Countdown (SHOMI)

Countdown (SHOMI) - Michelle Maddox Two people wake up and become unwilling participants in a deadly, underground reality show. One of those people is Kira, a woman who's alone in the world and pretty much homeless. The other person is Rogan, a man who's a mass murderer. At least, that's what the people who put him in prison say.

Rogan and Kira are forced to be a team. The choices were to team up or to die. They're told the rules of the six level game that will have them running all over the city. If they lose then they die. Oh, the game? It's timed. Bummer, because if they run out of time then they die. If they tell anyone that they're in the game, they die. See a pattern here?

Don't worry, there aren't many people to tell because this book is set in a post apocalyptic world. There was a plague, or something and a good chunk of the population, well, they died.

This book kept me turning the pages (tapping the screen?) because there were so many secrets, riddles, twists and turns. It was like I was watching a movie...a movie from the nineties but still, it was good. Even the names of the main characters lent themselves to the whole action packed aura. If, for example, they had been named Ethel and Marvin it wouldn't have been the same.

"Duck, Ethel!"

"Marvin, the gun, throw me the gun!"

See. Not the same.
