Have I Told You Lately?

I loved Ross, the hero, in this book. He's a self-made success, confident, a hard worker, honest and he doesn't play games. His speech is pretty urban but not so much that he sounds ignorant. The author gets a high-five for creating a character like Ross.
Cherise...Cherise is so very annoying, self-centered, hypocritical and full of herself. Cherise basically gets in Ross' face more than once about how she feels like he's keeping secrets, but she has a secret that she hasn't told him. That was enough reason for me not to like her.
Cherise also jumps to conclusions. To top it all off she leaves Ross when he needs her most without letting him explain the situation. She was a self-righteous, unfair, immature, ignorant fool about the whole thing. Ross shouldn't have taken her back. She apologized and cried? So what. She sang while they had sex? So what. That's not enough. She proved that she's unreliable when the chips are down.
Those two stars that I gave this book are all for Ross. The attempt to create a female character who had anything redeemable about her failed.
