Ready for Love

Ready for Love - Erosa Knowles This is the second book in this series. The first book really bothered me but I decided to give this one a go.

This was Denise and Red's story and it didn't bother me quite as much as [b:Have I Told You Lately?|10336745|Have I Told You Lately? (The Men of 3X CONStruction)|Erosa Knowles|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51HXYBKS4QL._SL75_.jpg|15239368].

For the first part of the book I didn't like Denise. She was as immature and childish as Cheris from Have I Told You Lately?
Actually, Denise was worse. Instead of communicating she insults Red, breaks up with him and breaks his heart. Her reason for doing all of this is ridiculous.

Denise and Red have young twin girls and Red is a great father who nurtures his children and provides for them. Here is where Denise lost my vote. Because she and Red are having problems she decides not to tell him about a parents' breakfast that the children's school is having. The girls are hurt because they think their father doesn't want to go. When Red finds out he doesn't blame Denise. He takes it all on himself. It is pointed out that he does this all of the time.

Selfish, selfish, childish woman. She also calls the twins her kids repeatedly as if Red isn't their father and has nothing to do with raising them. He helps raise them, he provides for them and Denise because she has no job. What does Denise do? Oh, yeah, she hurts their feelings by making them think their father wants nothing to do with something they see as important.

Red loves Denise. He loves his kids. I felt his pain because in a lot of ways Denise was just...mean. I didn't understand why Red loves her. She had way too much attitude. Attitude doesn't make a woman strong. Most of the time it just makes her annoying.

For the second half of the book Denise was tolerable. I focused on Red beause he was a big ball of hot sweetness. Just like in the first book of the series, I ADORED the guy and wanted the woman to get a clue or ten or twenty. I liked Red better than Ross.

Will I read the next book? Yes, because I want to know the outcome of the mystery. The BDSM angle was interesting. Red's brothers all need their own books. Roark and Brenda...I hope they get a book because Roark was badass personified.
