An Ocean Apart (Love is Always Write)

I saw that a couple of friends really liked this story, so I decided to give it a try because I needed something short to read.
Jaime and Shane have been together for six years and their relationship has been rocky lately. Jaime's in a job he hates and works a lot. Shane works a lot too in a popular restaurant. They don't spend enough time together and they've grown apart.
Let's talk about Jaime. Jaime made me mad; point blank. He gave his boss, Jim too many liberties and I had a hard time believing that Jaime didn't know what Jim was trying to do. Even if Jaime didn't think that Jim was trying to make a move there are just certain things that you don't do when you're in a relationship. End of story.
When Shane walks in on a VERY suspicious scene between Jaime and Jim. Shane gets angry, understandably, but for some reason the author writes the scene so that it's made to seem like Shane's suspicions are unreasonable. Shane then has to grovel and beg and Jaime is made out to be the benevolent partner.
Truthfully, I wanted Shane to make Jaime grovel at least a little. At least.
Let's talk about the sex scenes. I skimmed them. The sex was the same sex I've read in hundreds of other M/M Romance stories. I don't know if it's because I've read a lot of really good books lately but I need a lot more than "harder" and "oh, yeah, yeah" to make me say that a sex scene is smokin' hot.
Unfortunately, in the end this story was ruined for me by the way Shane was made out to be the bad guy, and by how much I just didn't like Jaime.
